residency at URRA-Residency, Tigre, Buenos Aires, Argentinien

In March 2016, URRA opened a new space called URRA Tigre, located in the Tigre Sur district in the municipality of Tigre on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. URRA Tigre is a permanent living and working space offering a program of continuous art residencies for visual artists and other professionals.
URRA Tigre provides living and working spaces for artists from Argentina and around the world to support artistic production. It also promotes interaction between professionals, the exchange of information and the creation of links between different people and spaces within the artistic environment in Argentina and the world.
In URRA Tigre, artists can start new projects, develop previous work or develop proposals that were specifically conceived during the residency in terms of conceptual framework, without the pressure of having to complete these projects during the residency. In addition, informal and spontaneous activities take place that promote the interaction of the group with the local art community and the surrounding area.

URRA is an Argentinean project dedicated to the creation of art residencies and cultural exchange, founded in June 2010. It is part of the VERIA Foundation for the Development, Research and Dissemination of Art and Culture.
URRA's goal is to promote artistic production and create space to reflect, inspire and expand our knowledge of contemporary art, to promote dialogue and exchange of information and experiences between professionals from different parts of the world.
The first continuous residency format of the URRA is the Art Residency in Buenos Aires, which has been held annually since 2010.
The second residency format is the MAYO Residency, which took place in four editions between 2012 and 2015.
In 2013 URRA started an international exchange in collaboration with Atelier Mondial from Basel Switzerland. In 2015 URRA started a second international exchange in partnership with the Gasworks project from London, UK, in collaboration with arteBA Fundación from Argentina, which will be continued every year.
In 2017 URRA has started three new international exchange projects: in partnership with PIER-2 from Kaohsiung, Taiwan; in partnership with YAXS from Guatemala City, Guatemala; with Ranchito-Matadero from Madrid, Spain, in the framework of ARCO in Spain.
