motifs of the flag installation

In the Schlosspark Wädenswil, in the outdoor area of the Agroscope Changins-Wädenswil Research Station ACW, a huge, approx. 150-year-old copper beech had to be felled. For this beech I created a performance on the felled tree trunk and performed it for the camera without an audience. Video stills were 'distilled' from the dance part of the film and printed on flag fabric. The essence of the images: Putting the deep blue sky and the flying and falling body between trees towering high into the sky!

installation labelling by the curator Susann Wintsch

«The artist has had five video stills printed on transparent flag fabric. The pictures show a dancing body throwing itself into the blue sky. Stretched out between the old trees in the castle park, they also show reflections of the sun's rays, the shadows of the trees and branches against the light and the landscape behind them. When the wind blows, the images lift themselves up into the air and allow the bodies to overcome gravity with poetic ease, and it almost seems as if the film from which the styles were taken is being played out anew.»
