With PEGELSTAND (water level) I — IV, GNOM enters the public space. The cycle is dedicated to the river, the bridges - the transitions between land and water, shore and bank, layers and histories of the evolved city, presented in transitions between concert, exhibition and theatre. PEGELSTAND (water level) I - IV shows musical, gestural, visual and installative actions developed by artists in response to a situation.

Since 1992 GNOM has enriched the cultural life of the city and region of Baden with events in the fields of contem­porary music and performance.
GNOM's premise is to put music into context, to make personal, inter­di­sci­plinary, historical and local references audible and tangible, and to create quali­ta­tively convincing musical events for Baden and its guests. To this day, GNOM has become the most important insti­tution for the inter­pre­tation of contem­porary music in Aargau. The Baden-based group works in a networked, profes­sional manner and always draws attention to itself through daring experiments.
