concert performance series PEGELSTAND I — IV
With PEGELSTAND (water level) I — IV, GNOM enters the public space. The cycle is dedicated to the river, the bridges - the transitions between land and water, shore and bank, layers and histories of the evolved city, presented in transitions between concert, exhibition and theatre. PEGELSTAND (water level) I - IV shows musical, gestural, visual and installative actions developed by artists in response to a situation.
short profile of GNOM gruppe für neue musik baden (GNOM group for new music baden)
Since 1992 GNOM has enriched the cultural life of the city and region of Baden with events in the fields of contemporary music and performance.
GNOM's premise is to put music into context, to make personal, interdisciplinary, historical and local references audible and tangible, and to create qualitatively convincing musical events for Baden and its guests. To this day, GNOM has become the most important institution for the interpretation of contemporary music in Aargau. The Baden-based group works in a networked, professional manner and always draws attention to itself through daring experiments.
