'water level I' — performance + intervention + sound
sound intervention «Hearing Sirens» by Caty Van Eck
Hearing Sirens is a project for portable loudspeakers. In this performance, the two meanings of the word siren resonate, firstly the
mythological figure of a bird-woman known from, for example, the Odyssey for her wonderful singing and the siren that sends out warning sounds in an emergency. The siren speakers are worn on the back and, in reverse to the Walkman, the sounds are sent into the environment instead of just into the ears of the wearer.
