'I am well 1 - you ... we ... all are well' — performance happening

the 'Turbinenhalle' (turbine hall) where the festival takes place

The hall measures approximately 86 x 11.30 m in ground plan and is about 16 m high.

the festival history

International Performance Art Giswil was founded in 1998 by Ruedi Schill and Monika Günther for the specific location of 'Turbine Giswil'. The couple, who have been working together as a performance duo since 1995, have subsequently staged a total of 12 festival editions: 1998—2000 and 2005—2013.
In 2014, the founding couple handed over the artistic direction to Andrea Saemann, performance artist and networker from Basel.
The festival is part of the activities of the expo Turbine association, an interest group of artists and other art enthusiasts who have been using the turbine hall for cultural purposes since its closure in 1994. The association initiates and realises exhibition projects and facilitates cultural creation and presentation in the 'Turbine Giswil' or at other locations.
