Appenzell Ausserhoden and Shetland, a Swiss canton and a group of islands in the north of Scotland. Two places that can be described as rural because they are remote from the big cities of their country.
Both places have people working in the field of art. The first stage of the project «Hidden Flowers Bloom Most Beautifully» asks how their work engages with the environment und ruarlity. This question does not impose a concept of rurality on the artists, but rather challenges them to shape or negate it themselves. ...
