synopsis
Performance as art was born 100 years ago from the spirit of Dada. Even today, the medium, which lives mainly through its spontaneity and live situation, still gives cause for amazement, laughter, questions... The exhibition at Kunstraum Kreuzlingen provides a constant insight into a permanent writing and noting process on the subject of performance throughout the entire duration of the exhibition. The exhibition contents include scripts as relics of performances or scores for performances. Works by Apresperf/ Andrea Saemann, David Bonvin, Hanne Darboven, Esther Ferrer, Camille Kaiser/Lara Paratte, Petra Koehle/Nicolas Vermot-Petit Outhenin, Davor Ljubicicic' , Marion Ritzmann, Dorothea Rust, Christoph Rütimann, Salon Nomade Archive, Martina-Sofie Wildberger, Gernot Wieland, and others are on display.
The before, during and after of a performance is examined in space and time in three separate areas. A reading and rummaging corner for contemplative retreat is available, as well as a rehearsal platform to test or discuss scripts.
I would like to invite you to discover with me, as curator of this exhibition, the contents of «Writing Performance: Script, Notation, Score» and discuss, including during a meal prepared daily for you/yourself. I look forward to your visit, Sibylle Omlin, curator.
