«An Approach to Gaps in the Exhibition Performance Process at Museum Tinguely»
The term «Performance» has been stretched and pulled in every direction of late, and completed with the «performativen» and «performance-like», such that a sort of whateverism has set in. This needs to be given a sharper edge. The exhibition «Performance Process» at the Museum Tinguely was received with great interest, hotly discussed in the performance scene and variously judged. Within the context of a unique cooperative effort, artists, art intermediaries and theorists have now spelled out the omissions in writing. That is how this publication came into being. It sees itself as a contribution to the discussion and «pillow book» for the «Performance Process» symposium that will deal with questions internal to and concerning a specific Swiss history of performance art. «Eine Annäherung an Lücken der Ausstellung Performance Process im Museum Tinguely»
Der Begriff «Performance» wurde in den letzten Jahren in alle Richtungen gedehnt und gezogen, mit dem Performativen und Performancehaften ergänzt, so dass eine Art Beliebigkeit eingetreten ist, die es wieder zu schärfen gilt. Die Ausstellung im Museum Tinguely zum «Performance Process» weckte grosse Neugierde, wurde in der Szene heiss diskutiert und unterschiedlichst bewertet.im Rahmen einer aussergewöhnlichen Zusammenarbeit haben nun Künstlerinnen, Vermittlerinnen und Theoretikerinnen Lücken benannt. Dabei ist dieses Heft entstanden. Es versteht sich als Diskussionsbeitrag und Kopfkissenbuch zum «Performance Process» Symposium, welches sich am 26. und 27. Januar 2018 auch mit Fragen innerhalb und zu einer spezifischen Schweizer Geschichte der Performancekunst beschäftigt. Dass diese Geschichte in einer Vielstimmigkeit geschrieben werden muss, ist unsere Überzeugung.
