Editorial Notes by Sabine Gebhardt Fink, Andrej Mirčev
The articles, collective contributions and interviews gathered in this edited volume are the result of the international scientific exchange conference «Revolving Documents: Narrations of the Beginnings of Performance Art.» The conference, conceived by Sabine Gebhardt Fink, Tancredi Gusman and Elisabeth Nold-Schwarz, happened as part of the exhibition project BANG BANG, curated by Andrea Saemann, Muda Mathis, Chris Regn and Lena Eriksson in collaboration with Séverine Fromaigeat at the Museum Tinguely in Basel (June 2022). Challenging dominant narratives and methodologies of how to document and write particular histories of performance art, the essays collected in the book proliferate new ways to research the archives and memory of performance and live art.
